Brookfield Financial Properties is a major international real estate owner/developer with an extensive portfolio of Class A office buildings. The charge was to design their 50,000 square foot headquarters offices situated in the midst of their own holdings. The space consists of executive, private and open plan offices, support spaces and a prominent central gallery showcasing images of Brookfield's trophy properties, leading into a gracious reception area and conference facilities.
The space projects a calm and dignified, yet progressive image through the use of sumptuous and warm materials with striking accents. These materials include leather and stone in the elevator lobby, leather panels in the reception area and glass tile in the lunch room; all detailed in a modern, minimal vocabulary. Lighting is an integral element that defines the space. The private offices have full height European sycamore doors and complementary sycamore furniture. Iu + Bibliowicz Architects was also involved in the selection and placement of artwork, the beginning of Brookfield's significant art collection.
